OUR STORY

Founded by Dr. Stephanie Tran '20, EyeChat was created to make visible the different career paths optometrists can take after graduating. When Dr. Tran started optometry school at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, she found most of her peers were only aware of private practice and academia. Coming from a biomedical engineering background, Dr. Tran saw how optometrists in industry and research can contribute to many facets of eye care. With four of her classmates, EyeChat! was found.

EyeChat! is dedicated to providing students with information and insight about unconventional career paths that exist after graduating from optometry school. We invite guest speakers from industry, research, and alternative fields to share their career experiences and technological advances in optometry.
