Michael Huang
Treasurer
Michael is responsible for all financial operations of the club from membership to event catering. He is from Yorba Linda, CA and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. He is interested in exploring all the different avenues to go down beyond optometry and is passionate about helping others explore possibilities they may not have considered before. Outside of school, Michael enjoys rock climbing, exploring new boba places, playing board games, and discovering new music artists!
Susanna Tan
Public Relations
Susanna manages EyeChat’s social media (Facebook and Instagram) and updates club website content. In addition, she assists in coordinating outreach for club speakers. Her hometown is Millbrae, CA and studied Biology at UC Santa Cruz! She’s passionate about learning more about the unconventional career routes in optometry and is incredibly excited to share this type of information with others! Outside of school, Susanna loves listening to kpop, creating digital art, following up with recent anime, and Nintendo games with friends! She’s also an avid cat lover (ask me about my lucky black cat, Taro).
Kaleigh Lin
First Year Representative
Kaleigh is the c/o 2027 liaison and the president-elect of EyeChat. She is from Austin, TX, and completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. Kaleigh is excited to explore the variety of career paths that optometrists can take post-graduation, and is passionate about helping to connect members with different speakers and resources. During her free time, Kaleigh likes learning kpop dances, cook/bake new recipes, getting food with friends, and scrapbooking/making crafts!
Briana Yik
President
Briana manages all EyeChat! operations and brings in experienced speakers to present during EyeChat! events! She is excited to lead EyeChat! this year and hopes to make lasting connections with the professionals and student members she meets in this role! She grew up in Daly City, CA and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at UCLA. In her free time she enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, cards/board games, and singing karaoke! Vy Vy Lu
Vice President
Vy Vy supports the president in their roles and assumes Presidential duties in their absence. She was born and raised in Pomona, CA and completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology at UCLA. She looks forward to gaining more insight on the diverse career routes that optometry has to offer as well as connecting with peers who share the same passion. Her hobbies outside of school include exploring new restaurants and cafes, reading, journaling and spending time with her friends!
Jenny Huynh
Secretary
Jenny was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at UC Davis. She became interested in optometry after shadowing and interning at various practices in the Bay Area. Jenny is excited to learn and further advance her clinical skills throughout optometry school, connect with professionals in the field, and explore all the career opportunities out there for an aspiring optometrist. When she has some downtime, she enjoys thrifting, watching TikToks, cooking new recipes/trying new cuisines, discovering new music, and scrapbooking!
